Today's elevators are designed and built
under strict supervision of the building codes. Model codes which are the
standard in most US
jurisdictions require compliance with the
American Society of Mechanical Engineer's
(ASME).
All of the four major manufacturers sell proprietary microprocessor
controls. The disadvantage is special service tools are required to trouble
shoot problems and replacement parts are very expensive; consequently, you
are locked into high service charges.
Skyway installs non-proprietary equipment that meet and exceed all code
standards. Parts are easily purchased and most of our controllers have on
board self diagnostic screens.
Our repairmen are union trained members of the International Union of
Elevator Constructors and are knowledgeable in all aspects of the elevator
trade.
